Casa Natal de El Libertador

4 A memorial to Simon Bolivar, it's no surprise that great care is taken over the maintenance of his birthplace. The visitor can experience the past in the walls, rooms, interior yards, plants and decor. The house  still holds family portraits and antique furniture. As an additional attraction, there are several magnificent epic paintings by Venezuelan artist Tito Salas.

Panteón Nacional

3_4 This enclosure is the resting place of illustrious Venezuelans and an homenage to their memory. It was decreed the National Pantheon in 1875, after having been the Church of the Holy Trinity. Within this rather moving atmosphere, the visitor cannot help but observe and appreciate the epic paintings of Tito Salas on the ceiling, and the magnificent chandelier made of more than 4,000 pieces. The changing of the guards is also worth seeing.`

Parque Nacional Sierra Nevada (National Park Sierra Nevada)

Sierranevada09 If you are looking foward to have a full view of the Venezuelan Andean scenery, this is a great place to visit: mountain peaks, fields, tons of fascinating Andean Vegetation, and beautiful lakes. I will recommend  the Laguna Mucubaji, just off the highway between Barrinas and Merida, near Apartaderos. Although if you are not a true fan of nature you should stay at the hotel.
