Fuente Olimpo

Fuerteolimpo Fuente Olimpo is a city in Paraguay, in the Pantanal Region, and could be an amazing city if it was exploited in the right way, like Brazil does in the same region, that even has floating hotels. You can visit the Fuerte Borbon, built in 1792 to defend the city from the Bandeirantes, the touristic sight of the 3 hills, the "Tres Hermanos" (Three Brothers) and the cathedral Maria Auxiliadora, atop one of the hills.

Ciudad del Este

Ciudaddeleste Ciudad del Este is in Paraguay, part of the Tri Border, and a great place to go shopping. The Iguazu Falls are its main attraction, along with shopping, since it is the third largest free-tax commerce zone in the world. Another interesting site to visit is the Itaipu dam, shared with Brazil.

Asuncion

Asuncion Asuncion is the capital of Paraguay, eventhough it has many tall and modern buildings, some of them date to the 1800s and there are many cobble stones streets. If you travel to Asuncion in July, don't miss the trade fair, with exhibition booths, food, music and liquor, lots of free samples of food, soap, drinks and other stuff. Make some time to visit the National Cathedral and the Panteon del los Heroes.

Paraguay_river_sunset Paraguay is a landlocked country in South America, divided into 2 regions, Chaco and Paranena, with 17 departments and 1 capital city. It borders with Bolivia, Brazil and Argentina, and crossed by the Tropic of Capricorn. Paraguay has a very homogeneous populations, with a 95% of the people of mixed Spanish and Guaraní Indian descent. Iguaçu Falls

Iguau_falls Iguaçu Falls are one of the great natural wonders of the world, located in what is known as the Tri Border, the area where Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina meet, and the Falls are listed as a UNESCO World Heritage. At the Tri Border, 3 cities share the Falls, Foz do Iguaçu on the Brazilian side; Puerto Iguazu town on the Argentine side, and Ciudad del Este on the Paraguayan side. You have amazing boat trips that can be made under the falls, safaris, wildwater rafting, and other similar activities that will let you explore the jungle and the falls.
