Casa Natal de El Libertador
A memorial to Simon Bolivar, it's no surprise that great care is taken over the maintenance of his birthplace. The visitor can experience the past in the walls, rooms, interior yards, plants and decor. The house still holds family portraits and antique furniture. As an additional attraction, there are several magnificent epic paintings by Venezuelan artist Tito Salas.
This enclosure is the resting place of illustrious Venezuelans and an homenage to their memory. It was decreed the National Pantheon in 1875, after having been the Church of the Holy Trinity. Within this rather moving atmosphere, the visitor cannot help but observe and appreciate the epic paintings of Tito Salas on the ceiling, and the magnificent chandelier made of more than 4,000 pieces. The changing of the guards is also worth seeing.`
If you take the South side of Cerro El Avila you will find the Boyacá motorway or Cota Mil, which gets its name due to its great height. It is a modern and fast road that joins the two ends of the Caracas valley. The road has beautiful scenery and panoramic views of the city.
This is one of the most exquisite and functional boulevards of Merida. Here you will be surrounded by the fresh verdure of stately trees and well take care gardens; by the architectonic jewels of the historical zone; by cafes with varied menus and tables on the sidewalk; or, if you prefer, you may sit on one of the benches to chat a while, to rest .
