Panteón Nacional

3_4 This enclosure is the resting place of illustrious Venezuelans and an homenage to their memory. It was decreed the National Pantheon in 1875, after having been the Church of the Holy Trinity. Within this rather moving atmosphere, the visitor cannot help but observe and appreciate the epic paintings of Tito Salas on the ceiling, and the magnificent chandelier made of more than 4,000 pieces. The changing of the guards is also worth seeing.`
